Once I decided I was really interested in makeup a couple of years ago, I quickly discovered that one of my favorite makeup products to use is blush. I went from owning no blush at all to now owning TEN and wearing blush nearly every single day whether I’m wearing any other makeup or not. I think it’s safe to say that no one needs ten blushes, but I enjoy having options!
This will come as a surprise to no one that has read my previous Thrive Causemetics posts about the brand and their mascara, but my favorite blush is the Thrive Causemetics Cosmo Power Multi-Dimensional Strobing Blush in the shade “Rosie.” Has anyone else noticed that all of Thrive’s product names are strangely long? It’s very funny to me, but I don’t mind the long names if they keep creating amazing products! Keep reading to find out what makes this Thrive Causemetics blush special. 🙂

There are only two shades available for this product, but I gave it a perfect 10 in this category, so what do I mean by “inclusivity”? I’m referring to the product’s ability to be used on a wide variety of skin tones. It can be applied lightly for fair skin like mine, or built up for richer color on deep skin tones. I believe this shade is also universally flattering for cool, neutral, and warm undertones.
There is a wide range of textures available for powder blushes, going from completely matte all the way to pressed glitter claiming to be blush. This one is a beautiful shimmer that provides a healthy looking glow to the cheeks. Many people that enjoy using highlighter will find that no added highlight is needed when wearing this blush. I really like that this is a 2-in-1 kind of product because it gives a subtle glow without compromising on color. I’m not usually a big fan of highlighters so this is a nice compromise for me. I took one point from this category because I have large pores on either side of my nose and I think this blush can emphasize those if I’m not careful in that area. Oddly enough, I do agree with the claim that this blush has a skin-perfecting quality. It smooths over imperfections and makes them a little less noticeable.
Ease of application
This blush is very easy to apply. It is a smooth no-fuss formula that glides over the skin easily without streaking. It has the perfect amount of pigment to allow for customization based on skin tone. You don’t have to work too hard or be too careful when using this blush. I use a fluffy blush brush from Real Techniques to apply the product starting on the apple of my cheek and sweeping upward toward my temple. I like the majority of the color to be focused in the front, on the apples of my cheeks, so that is why I always start there. You can also apply this blush lightly to the bridge of the nose for a more realistic sun-kissed look.
I have unfortunately noticed that this blush will fade on my skin throughout the day. It looks nice upon application and continues to look good all day, but some of the color does fade. This is not a deal-breaker for me since I still have sufficient color remaining at the end of the day. This may be more of a problem for people with deeper skin tones.
I’ve had this Thrive blush for many months now and had forgotten the price until I looked it up on Thrive’s website to research the product for this post. I was shocked to see that it is $34.00! To me, that is very expensive for a blush. However, just like with the Thrive mascara, I feel that this blush is worth the high price tag. The formula is superior to any of the other blushes I’ve tried and it is extremely flattering. It is something that I enjoy using often, so I think it is well worth the price.
The Cosmo Power Multi-Dimensional Strobing Blush is definitely another winner from Thrive Causemetics. I think this might be the closest I’ll find to my “perfect” blush. In addition to the features listed above, this blush comes in beautiful luxurious packaging. It has more weight to it than most compacts and includes a mirror. In the picture at the top, you can see that the compact says “hello, gorgeous.” I love that Thrive exudes positivity and compassion for others.
I would recommend the Thrive Causemetics Cosmo Power Multi-Dimensional Strobing Blush to almost anyone. Some people don’t care for any shimmery blushes, so if that’s you, it’s probably best to avoid this one. Otherwise, it’s a great choice and I’d encourage you to give it a try!
